1. I have a history of selling cymbals, and using the proceeds to buy cymbals.

2. How to gain friends and influence people is something I wish I knew.

3. I’m eating (or recently ate) some pasta for lunch. (I am very much looking forward to taking my beloved wife out to “our” restaurant tonight!)

4. Musicians spend a good deal of time on the road.

5. So that’s it, that’s the key to everything. (6 2/3?)

6. A few hours alone with your wife is better than nothing!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a fantastic meal with a beautiful woman, tomorrow my plans include gigging in a tent in the rain–probably to no one, and Sunday, I want to do something out of the ordinary!

1. My car might be traded in soon. (It depends on what “new” car we end up with. If we get a mini-van, we’ll trade Susan’s mini-van. If we get something else, we’ll trade my wagon. Either way, I’d like Susan to have something a little newer.)

2. The second side of Steely Dan’s “Aja” is coming up next.

3. Lately, things seem stuck in a rut.

4. My car is one of my favorite ‘hiding’ places. (Traveling too and from gigs gives me opportunity to be alone, to listen to things I want to listen to, and to reflect.)

5. What happened to my lawn? It’s a mess!

6. You should try Impossible Cheeseburger Pie; it is not impossible!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to staying home and relaxing, tomorrow my plans include going to Augusta to shop for cars and baubles, and Sunday, I want to welcome Pastor Dave back from vacation!

1. That’s a heckuva place to be.

2. Don’t throw the scissors; I’m over here! (That’s a throwback to this dream I had one night that I was lying on the floor beside the bed, and Susan was wrapping presents. I told her not to throw the scissors over the side of the bed, thinking she didn’t realize I was there.)

3. The possibilities include: pumpkin ice cream and marshmallow, roasted red peppers and garlic, or Pee Wee Herman and Vincent Price.

4. Sausage soup is one of my favorite cool day recipes.

5. How will you know that your car is low on oil unless you check the dipstick?

6. There are two sure signs that I’m going to have a bad day: no coffee and a stormy sky.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to playing funky soul with Groove Machine, tomorrow my plans include playing with Blind Albert and his Two Piece Orchestra, and Sunday, I want to buy a new car!

1. I feel sorta strange.

2. Tickling Nathaniel is always fun.

3. Right now, I can hear these things: an air conditioner. (And, I can only hear it out of my right ear. I’m having a left ear problem right now.)

4. I don’t have a gig on Saturday night, and I’m glad having that time off will let me got to a Sea Dogs game.

5. The last time I had a physical was 2005.

6. It looks like I’m covering the office phones this Labor day weekend.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to gigging with Blind Albert at the Black Bull, tomorrow my plans include a breakfast alone with Susan, and Sunday, I want to start my new Sunday School class: The Faith Cafe!

1. I remember, I remember the Alamo, the Maine, the time we first met, and, ah yes, I remember it well.

2. Dear pedestrian; I want you to know that my local tax monies have built you some fabulous sidewalks. Won’t you consider using them?

3. Is that my frog leg and goose liver sandwich you’re eating!!??? You know I’ve been saving that!

4. I’m trying to resist the temptation of a reasonably priced drum set with a 24″ kick drum. (Whew! Just went and looked. They’re all sold out! Temptation gone!)

5. I’m saving a special weekend getaway type date just for you Susan!

6. If I made a birthday list a drum set with a 24″ kick drum would definitely be on it!!!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a baseball game with the kids, tomorrow my plans include an afternoon gig but an evening free(!) and Sunday, I want to not completely muck up Sunday School services!
