Strapping Young Tile Setter
My friend Jim Gilbert is one strapping tiler. If you’re looking for someone to do tile in midcoast Maine, you might want to consider him.

On Saturday, the kids and I went to the Owls Head Transportaion Museum. Not only was there free admission, but there was a workshop where the kids could build their own Styrofoam glider. We had a great time, and I took some photos. I took Susan’s new Pentax digital SLR. The LCD screen looks much different that how the photos actually come out. On the screen, the photos with a flash looked very over exposed. So I shut the flash off. Then, they looked ok on the LCD. When I got home to the computer, though, it was exactly the opposite. The photos with the flash looked fine (although there were harsh shadows), and the ones without flast were under exposed. Ah well, it’s a sophisticated camera, and will take some time to learn. Maybe I should read the manual!
Shuffling Canada Jack tagged me. Here’s the low-down:
Rules of the game:
1. Go to the the 4th folder where you keep your pictures on your computer.
2. Post the 4th picture in the folder.
3. Explain the photo.
4. Tag 4 fellow bloggers to join in the fun!
Ok, let’s go to My Photos. Fourth folder in is called Birthdays 2007. The fourth photo in is my youngest, Matthew.
The file notes of the photo say it was taken with a Kodak camera. That’s not my brand. I think Grammy-Nan actually snapped this photo.
I’m supposed to tag three people. Here’s where I run into issues. Lisa and Susan have lots of photos, but I don’t think they know how to post them. Jim doesn’t post anymore. Jack already played, and she already nominated Amber. So how about Melanie and Amy? You guys take, and know how to post, photos. Why not give it a go?
I was working on an ad for a local phone book. I needed a place to save it on the office file server. While poking around for a folder to which I had permissions to save files, I found a folder called “Bill’s.” I found a bunch of photos taken one day when the boys came to visit me. You can see those photos here.
When I got home last night, I asked the kids what they learned in school. Nat said he learned about giraffes. I asked what he learned about giraffes, and he said “I learned about their guts, their bones, their skin, and their allergies.”
“What are they allergic to?” I asked.
He responded: “Lions.”
