1. Being married to the same person for 16 years feels great.
2. The solution is to put the relationship of husband/wife before parent/children.
3. My beloved wife is always next to me before I fall asleep.
4. How about going into marriage with the idea that it IS going to last, and divorce is NOT an option?
5. Marrying your best friend is something I highly recommend!
6. Imagine living with the same person for 16 years; imagine looking forward to coming home to the same person every night, and actually wanting to be there; imagine a lifetime of being in love.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to celebrating my anniversary with the woman I love, tomorrow my plans include starting year 17 of a fantastic marriage, and Sunday, I want to sit in church beside the woman I love, and listen to her sing alto against my bass!

For all the years I’ve visited your blog, and they’ve been at least two now, you’ve spoken so lovingly of your wife. It really touches my heart to ‘see’ the relationship you have. In many ways it reminds me of the way that author Robert Spenser wrote of his hero’s love for Susan, and that’s a good thing. May you have a very blessed anniversary. I’m so happy for you both.

Beautiful. I love it. My husband and I are at 13 years together, and working on many, many more. Glad you liked the When Harry Met Sally quote. My hubby teared up. 😉

Congrats! I just celebrated #7 on 6/7.
I haven’t found my balance on your answer to #2 yet… especially with a newborn. 🙂 hee hee… However, it tends to only be like that WHEN we have a newborn. 🙂 So, I think it’s just one of those “seasons” you have to go through.
Love your idea on #4. I wish people would consider that first. Everyting (including relationships) is so disposable these days. So sad.
YOu are such a sweetie! YOu should post a picture of you guys…then and now! 🙂
