1. Why does it have to be warm enough for me to get the scooter out one day, and a few days later it’s snowing again?

2. Most people don’t like the metric system. They like the English system since it’s “familiar.” Yet most people don’t even know one tablespoon is equal to three teaspoons; most people think it’s four.

3. My favorite breakfast includes pot roast hash, eggs over medium, toast, and enough coffee to float a skiff.

4. “The Making of the Empire Strikes Back” was the last book I read before falling asleep the other night. (I usually read my Bible before going to sleep, but I did something different the night before last. I didn’t read anything last night; I was too tired and went right to sleep.)

5. I am SO glad I took a couple hours off from the office this AM.

6. A hot shower would make me feel better right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to playing “Hello Dolly” in the pit of a high school musical, tomorrow my plans include going to a pastor/deacon conference (I will represent the latter; I’m not called to be a pastor!) and Sunday, I want to have lunch with my Mom!

1. Bring your favorite side dish to share, and we’ll have a rockin’ BBQ at my place. Once the snow melts off the grill, that is…

2. Make sure you talk to everyone at the BBQ, so that all the people feel like they are included.

3. Some spare ribs and some brisket and a side of baked beans is exactly what I plan on bring to the BBQ..

4. Well, you see, I’m not sure how this FFI took on a BBQ theme; I did watch a BBQ show on TV last night with daughter Julia, so perhaps that’s it.

5. I can’t wait to have a BBQ; it won’t be too soon!

6. But what if the snow never melts? How then will we have a BBQ? Perhaps we’ll just have to have a party indoors.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to playing a gig with Blind Al at a BBQ stand (not really–no BBQ at all–but the gig is real), tomorrow my plans include playing with Steelin’ Thunder at a fundraising BBQ (again, real gig, no BBQ) and Sunday, I want to have extended family dessert time at Mert’s house, and I hope someone brings some BBQ!

1. Ooooh, I hope I can steer the rest of this day out of the ditch.

2. I’ve got two pounds to go on my weight loss goal and they won’t come off; I can’t stand it!

3. How the heck did I end up with so many bills? I thought we had that credit card down to a reasonable level.

4. Anywhere I can go on my scooter is one of my favorite places to visit.

5. I’m not a snare drum hoarder, I swear, I’m not!

6. If it comes out of the kitchen of an Italian grandma’s house, it has to be good.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to an evening home, tomorrow my plans include a rehearsal for the show Hello Dolly (I’ll be in the pit, not on the stage!) and Sunday, I want to practice the funk with Groove Machine!

1. One of my strongest beliefs is a teaching of Jesus recorded in John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh to Father but through Me.”

2. The number of calories I ate at the “Spruce Head Young Men’s hangout” last night (hosted at my house) must’ve been huge!

3. The sky is cloudy with a threat of rain and wind and cold, so I think I better go check the fuel in the generator and let it warm up–’cause we’re probably gonna lose power.

4. Snuggling next to Susan is comforting to me.

5. I always thought I’d be a dad, but I really didn’t understand how much enjoyment and satisfaction it brings.

6. I was only a moment until my clothes shredded off my now hairy body, and my canine teeth elongated to the point of not being able to be contained behind my thin, shriveled lips; and then I went outside to look at the full moon, almost fully mutated into a Werewolf.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to hanging it with the boys (Susan’s at a women’s retreat and Julia is going to a friend’s house), tomorrow my plans include meeting with the electrician to discuss wiring the new generator, and Sunday, I want to do something I don’t do on most every Sunday; what that thing is, though, I don’t know!

1. Laughter wasn’t used in any of the operating room scenes in MASH; the producers felt a laugh track took away from the seriousness of what was on screen.

2. “I wasn’t at” are the three words that started off the last email I sent.

3. What I’m most looking forward to today is my family coming home from a week at camp.

4. The prayers of my children puts a smile on my face.

5. Where in the world can you find a Gladstone snare drum for $6.00? If you know, please call me immediately!

6. The Cars had a song that included the lyrics “ just what I needed! ” and Susan and I were talking about American new wave bands the other day. (Other than The Cars and Blondie, I couldn’t come up with any more.)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to having Susan (and the kids) home, tomorrow my plans include driving three hours to a gig in Machias, playing three hours, traveling three hours home, and then going to another gig and Sunday, I want to probably get some rest!

1. I feel much better than the last two days. (It seems that 24 hour stomach bug has finally passed.)

2. I recently came back to work after a week’s vacation; it took me a day or three to catch up.

3. Do You Feel Like I Do is one of those “guilty pleasure” songs I’m almost embarrassed to say I still like.

4. There aren’t too many things out there that are completely unique.

5. It’s hard to know how much money is going to come in from that ebay auction; sometimes someone gets caught up in auction fever, and the price goes through the roof! (Too bad that never happens to any of the stuff I’m selling!)

6. Usually, whatever one of my twin boys does, it isn’t long before the other one follows suit.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to playing a gig in Kenduskeag, tomorrow my plans include playing a gig in Thomaston and Rockland, and Sunday, I want to squeeze a nap in after church before my Sunday wedding gig!

1. I’m not sure I could tell you what is my favorite place to travel to. (I’m not much of a traveler. I CAN tell you I HATE driving in Boston. Take the T.)
2. When I think about my childhood, I often remember how much fun I had during the summers, being allowed to roam free all over Spruce Head Maine. I could tell my mom “bye” in the morning, and she could let me go anywhere, pretty much, without worry.
3. A good wife makes for a good friend.
4. The wind in the trees, the rain on my skin, and thus does my cheesy couplet begin.
5. I’m not sure I could tell you what is so exciting! (Seems like I haven’t been excited in a while.)
6. My best friend knows everything there is to know about me. (I’m so thankful I married her!)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to seeing my jump/swing band on TV, tomorrow my plans include working at the Rockland Kiwanis “Bike Rodeo” (if it doesn’t rain), and Sunday, I want to attend biker Sunday at church, and hopefully it won’t be raining so we can go to The Blessing of the Bikes!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to playing a gig in Bar Harbor, tomorrow my plans include lawn mowing and kid watching, and Sunday, I want to maybe go watch alewives swim upstream!

1. I just had a boston kreme donut.
2. Most people don’t know where Kenduskeag is.
3. The third sentence on the 7th page of the book I’m reading: is not available to me right now. (I’m reading the Bible. I do it quite frequently. I start at the front, and read straight through. I’m in Hebrews currently. I hope to finish up this weekend. Page seven would be in Genesis. My guess is it would be something about the flood. Maybe I’ll check later and see how close I came!)
4. Susan tickles my fancy.
5. I was walking down a one way street, just a lookin’ for someone to meet, for a woman who was lookin’ for a man. (Used with permission of Huey Lewis.)
